Useful Checklist for Motorhomes

When you first buy a Motorhome, there seems to be a thousand things to remember, but after a couple of trips away, it will soon become second nature. 

We've made a few checklists to help you get started and ensure you don't miss out something vital. 

Setting off:
Below is a checklist of the steps you should follow when setting off in your motorhome. 

1. Switch off gas at the cylinder
2. Empty your fresh water and waste water tanks and clean out the toilet cassette.
3. Ensure the Motorhome's roof lights and windows are closed and secure and check internal doors and cupboards are closed. 
4. Raise the corner steadies if appropriate
5. Remove any chocks and locks
6. Pull clear of the pitch and check the area for anything left behind. 

Setting up:
When you reach your destination, you'll want to get set up as soon as possible to make life more comfortable. See the checklist below to get you started. 

1. When you first reach the site, ask if there is a Motorhome service point where you can fill up your onboard water tank before you reach the pitch.
2. Once on your pitch, use ramps under the wheels to level the vehicle if necessary.
3. Consider chocking the wheels, to make the vehicle more stable
4. If you are using mains electric, attach the mains cable from the Motorhome to the electric post.
